An Italian Adventure-Florence & Tuscany
Last night we enjoyed an incredible Italian date night at El Primo here in Chattanooga. It was our first time trying out the place and we loved it! It had me reminiscing of our nights in Florence where we enjoyed our meals outside under twinkling lights with a glass of wine. Can't forget all the vines and fresh flowers surrounding us as well. It's time for a recap of our time in Florence and the Tuscan hillside!
After Rome we made our way to Florence by train. Neither of us had ever traveled by train and it was such a fun experience! I had major anxiety leading up to getting on the train because of warnings about gypsies, pick pockets, and train strikes. But all that worrying was for nothing because it was a smooth ride.
We stayed in a air bnb for our time in Florence. I wouldn't recommend staying where we did. It was very nice, safe, and secure, but it was mainly just a room in someone's house. We felt we were intruding the whole time because we would get back super late.
Our first day in Florence we explored and explored. We walked to Piazza di Michelangelo twice, once during the day and also in the evening to watch the sunset. We also got to walk along Ponte Vecchio. We really enjoyed the Central market in Florence. Wish we had this here in Chattanooga!
Our next day in Florence we took a Tuscany in a Day tour- highly reccommend!! We went to Pisa and attempted to get our ridiculous leaning tower pictures. Our next stop was San Gigamino- absolutely stunning! It is a beautiful, old, medieval town in the country. Next we toured a local farm and then had a delicious organic farm meal right there where everything was grown. It was a dream! We also were able to do some wine tasting. Our last stop was Siena, perhaps my favorite of the day. Such and interesting little place! It deserves it's own recap later :)
Our next day we woke up early and took a taxi to the Tuscan hills where we did a Fiat 500 tour. We along with two other couples each got our own little old Fiat and we explored the Tuscan hills. Caleb had so much fun driving around! The views were breathtaking! Vineyards upon vineyards and hills upon hills.
